There are two tariffs to choose from. Outgoing Fixed is a flat tariff, where your electricity is bought at a fixed rate of 15p per kWh. If you're on Octopus Go you get a Lite version of Outgoing Fixed with export at 8p per kWh. Outgoing Agile is a dynamic tariff with half-hourly, day-ahead wholesale pricing, so customers can sell their electricity at the most profitable times. There are no standing charges.

Yes. You require a 'Secure' brand first-generation (SMETS1) smart meter or a second-generation (SMETS2) smart meter, so that Octopus can receive readings every half hour. You can contact Octopus to register your interest if you're already an Octopus customer and don't have one. There is no fee for smart meter installation.
