What Is Octo Assist?
From the outset the goal of Octopus Energy has been to pass the fairest possible prices on to their customers. However, where the price of buying a years' worth of energy for Octopus customers used to be around £1 billion, it's now around £9 billion.
Having absorbed what they can of that (spending £150 million from their own reserves to keep bills down and more recently another £40 million to keep standing charges lower) and having invested in innovative programmes like Saving Sessions, Octoplus and Power-ups (where customers can optimise their energy usage during specific times at cheaper prices), Octopus now think the best way they can help is by putting extra resources into specific schemes designed to support the very most vulnerable customers.
So Octo Assist was created - initially with £2.5 million funding - and now £30 million to support even more customers this winter.

How Do I Apply For Octo Assist?

What If I'm Not Eligible For Octo Assist?
The support from Octopus is targeted at those in the greatest need. i.e. those who struggled to pay their bills even before the energy crisis and those whose health and safety depends on heat and power. So sadly Octo Assist can't help absolutely everybody. There are however some extra things Octopus are doing, like Saving Sessions, so please check out the Octoplus Rewards Programme.
