How Does The Flexible Octopus Tariff Work?
Your unit rate and standing charge can rise and fall in line with wholesale energy prices.
How Quickly Does Any Price Change Happen?
Octopus will always give you at least 30 days' notice of any price change.
If Prices Increase Will I Be Stuck On The Flexible Octopus Tariff?
No, there are no lock-in periods. You can change tariff or even change supplier at any time.
Will I Be Charged To Change Tariff Or Switch Supplier?
No. Octopus don't charge customers for changing tariff and there are no exit fees for switching supplier.
Is A Fixed Tariff More Expensive?
If you prefer the security of fixed pricing, you can choose an Octopus fixed tariff. A fixed tariff is usually slightly more expensive than a variable tariff, but you'll have peace of mind that your unit rate and standing charge won't change for the duration of the contract. Octopus will get in touch 45 days before the end of your contract with some new tariff options. If you don't wish to fix your prices again, Octopus will automatically move you onto the Flexible Octopus Tariff.
