What Happens If My Company Fails The Credit Check?
If you've completed the Octopus
sign up process and been told that you've failed the credit check, but you still want to go ahead and switch, an advance payment of 50% is required. To arrange this please call Octopus on 020 3389 5613 or email them at business@octopus.energy
If you fail the credit check following your Bulb Energy
application, then unfortunately you can’t join Bulb Business right now. Bulb suggest you might be able to improve your credit score if you think it’s wrong, or get a score if your business doesn’t have one, then re-apply. They provide some guidance here.
How Are Bulb And Octopus Able To Charge Less Than The Big 6 Suppliers?
Bulb and Octopus don't have the huge overheads of the large energy suppliers and utilise technology to streamline their processes and keep costs down. They also take a smaller profit so are able to pass savings onto their customers.
Do I Need To Contact My Current Supplier?
Yes, you will have to contact your current supplier to give notice. Please bear in mind many suppliers require a 30-day notice period. If you don't do this before signing up, your current supplier will most likely object to the switch. Once you've given notice, Bulb or Octopus will handle the rest of the switch for you.
What Business Tariffs Are Available?
Bulb only have one, variable rate business plan with no contracts, notice periods or exit fees. The Octopus variable business tariff is called Flexible Octopus Business and their numerous fixed contract offerings include Octopus Green Business and Octopus Tesla Business, which vary in duration from 1 year to 3 years. Both Bulb and Octopus offer these tariffs for businesses using Economy 7.
How Much Are The Bulb And Octopus Business Referral Rewards?
Bulb Energy offer a business energy referral reward of £50, same as for domestic switches. The referral reward is £25 for a gas only or electricity only switch. Octopus Energy offer a business energy referral reward of £100 for single-fuel or dual-fuel switches.
